Our ingredient list is the shortest in the history of pet food, as Dr. Giulia Pignataro's homemade diet recipes have always been, and anyone who has had the opportunity to be her client knows it.
Giulia is a veterinarian who, since university, has been exclusively interested in gastroenterology and dog and cat nutrition. Her own perennial intestinal problems, and those of her first dog, Lara, who also shares these issues, likely led her to study and try to find solutions to her poop and vomiting.
She understood right away that to solve gastrointestinal problems the first thing to do was to change the diet, and not just change the kibble.
He then became passionate about the world of food and began his first Master's degree in food quality management, then dedicated an entire PhD to it, also involving the intestinal microbiota, another of his great friends.
From that moment on, she never dropped out of university and, not content, she also obtained a Master's degree in Dog and Cat Nutrition and a Master's degree in Nutraceuticals.
It never occurred to her that she could deal with surgery, neurology or infectious diseases, she only wanted to dedicate herself to poop, vomit and baby food.
During Covid, she became The Diet Vet on social media with her nutrition education channel. She's not a psychological obesity terrorist, it's just that they portray her that way.
In her working life, she collects many, many nutritional visits and also mentally collects the owners' requests for a diet that is natural but also practical for those who work, travel, etc. It seemed like an impossible thing.
She is called into action by Dr. Woof and formulates the first simple and pure homemade dehydrated diet: one protein, one carbohydrate and one fibre.
